The LOHM at Breakout Conference: Elevating Justice-Impacted Voices in Miami

On March 1, 2025, The Ladies of Hope Ministries (The LOHM) participated in the Breakout Conference in Miami, Florida, collaborating with The Freedom Lab Miami to amplify the voices of justice-impacted women. The event was held at Hope Hub, a community space dedicated to fostering innovation and social change.

During the conference, The LOHM showcased powerful storytelling and video features from our Pathways 4 Equity (P4E) fellows. These narratives highlighted the resilience, transformation, and leadership of women who are actively rewriting their futures after experiencing incarceration. The P4E initiative is designed to create equitable opportunities and support systems for women transitioning back into society, emphasizing education, employment, and empowerment.

Dr. Topeka K. Sam, Founder and CEO of The LOHM, delivered an inspiring address, sharing the organization's mission to advocate for justice, equity, and opportunity for women impacted by incarceration. Her speech served not only as a conversation but also as a call to action, urging attendees to engage in efforts that support and uplift justice-impacted women.

The Breakout Conference is renowned for bringing together changemakers, innovators, and community leaders to discuss and implement solutions for pressing social issues. Our collaboration with The Freedom Lab Miami, a community center located at 4300 Northwest 12th Avenue, Miami, FL 33127, provided an effective platform to manage and promote non-profit initiatives aimed at social justice and community empowerment.

We extend our gratitude to the Breakout Conference, The Freedom Lab Miami, and every changemaker present. Together, we are building real pathways to freedom and creating a world where justice-impacted women have the support and resources they need to thrive.
