The Freedom Fighting Missionaries 4th Annual Gala honored the extraordinary women who have dedicated their lives to justice, equity, and reform. This year’s event highlighted the groundbreaking work of Topeka K. Sam, Founder and CEO of The Ladies of Hope Ministries, whose advocacy has transformed the lives of countless women impacted by the criminal legal system.

Keynote speaker Dr. Angela Y. Davis, a globally recognized civil rights leader, delivered powerful insights on the ongoing fight for social justice. The event also featured inspiring speeches from justice reform activist Kristie Puckett, Charlotte City Councilwoman Tiawana Brown, and other influential voices.

During the gala, five remarkable women were honored for their tireless contributions to the movement. Additionally, The Center for Community Transitions was recognized for 50 years of reentry services supporting individuals and families across Mecklenburg County.

The evening served as a powerful tribute to resilience and activism, celebrating the trailblazers who continue to advance justice and equity.
