As an Appointed Commissioner on the Women’s Justice Commission for the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ), I am dedicated to raising awareness and advancing evidence-based reforms that address the unique challenges faced by women in the justice system. The Women’s Justice Commission focuses on developing trauma-informed and gender-responsive strategies to enhance safety, health, and justice across every stage of the adult justice system—from arrest and diversion to incarceration, release, and community supervision.
In my role, I leverage my experience in advocacy and my passion for social justice to guide policies that prioritize the well-being and empowerment of women impacted by the criminal legal system. I work alongside experts in the field to ensure that our research and recommendations reflect the lived experiences of women, driving meaningful reforms that promote both public safety and equality.
My Role
As a commissioner, I contribute to policy development, research initiatives, and community outreach that aim to transform the criminal justice system into one that is fair, effective, and equitable for all women and girls. My goal is to ensure that every recommendation we make is grounded in data, compassion, and a commitment to real change.
